The power of a connection.

This past week I started a new job, and although I’ve been off the blogosphere for the week, I’ve missed sharing inspiration with you all!

And what a way to get back on the inspiration train with today’s post…a friend of mine had shared this on her Facebook profile recently and it certainly moved me. It reminded me about the powerful connections we share with others. There are many people that will come in and out of your life, but you will always have a unique connection with each one. Whether you share joy, pain, sorrow, struggles, or a beautiful romance, the connection is there forever. This story is a beautiful example of two former lovers reunited. Watch as they embrace their connection, and ask yourself…who in your life would you reconnect with, even just for a moment of silence?

Background of this story…

Marina Abramovic and Ulay started an intense love story in the 70s, performing art out of the van they lived in. When they felt the relationship had run its course, they decided to walk the Great Wall of China, each from one end, meeting for one last big hug in the middle and never seeing each other again.

At her 2010 MoMa retrospective Marina performed ‘The Artist Is Present’ as part of the show, where she shared a minute of silence with each stranger who sat in front of her. Ulay arrived without her knowing and this is what happened…
