It’s okay to be crazy.

My family & friends know that I’m a little crazy. Crazy in the sense that I’ve never been one to follow what’s “in”, or to do what everyone else is doing. And I’m proud to be a little crazy. I know that I have out-of-the-box ideas, big hopes & dreams, and I’ve always been one to choose the things that no one else wanted to choose. That’s just me. But to me, that’s a blessing…not a curse.

And, as I was reading a couple of chapters in my Steve Jobs biography book the other night, I was delighted to see this quote…one that I’ve always found as a source of inspiration.

“People who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.” ~Steve Jobs

I’ve always found Steve Jobs to be a fascinating, interesting character, and although I don’t agree with everything he did or how he did, I do admire his tenacity and determination to create what he saw in his head as something that would change the world (and it did).

I think this quote is extremely powerful – whether you’re looking at it from a business standpoint or as an individual looking to change the world for the better through charity…we can all find inspiration in these simple words. If you think you think you can change the world, and people call you crazy, don’t let those negative thoughts cloud that craziness. You’ve been given that crazy thought for a reason. Look at Mother Teresa, Albert Einstein and many others…channel your craziness to make a difference in the world. That’s my hope and dream, even if it’s cliche – I will somehow, someway, make the world a better place. I hope you find your inspiration to do the same.
